Fees, Information and Age Requirement

| CLASS AND INSTRUCTION FEE The fee for the NYU summer program is 1500.00 USD This includes all two hour classes, one ensemble and all masterclasses and NYU performances. Private lessons are available from our list of teachers. These private lesson fees vary from 55.00 USD to 100.00 USD per hour and is set by the private instructor. You can work out the number of lessons with the instructor. You will pay for lessons by giving the money directly to the instructor not NYU. If you would like college credit for these courses or lessons then there is a completely different fee structure that doesn't include the 1500.00 USD. You are charged by the number of credits for each course. The fee per credit is approximately 1000.00 USD. The Class instruction courses are 3 credits, the ensemble is one credit and lessons can be 2 credits (1/2 hour lesson) or 3 credits (1 hour lesson) You will need to take 14 lessons within the 3 weeks to complete the NYU requirements for lessons. All lessons for credit are not based on an instructors private lesson rate but are based on the credit amount you wish to receive. TOTAL COSTS CREDIT One 3 credit class 3000.00 One 1 credit ensemble 1000.00 3 week housing 360.00 Meal plan for 3 weeks 255.00 Private lesson for credit (students need 14 lessons to receive credit). Fee based on instructors rate. NON CREDIT One 3 credit class and One 1 credit ensemble 1500.00 3 week housing 570.00 Meal plan for 3 weeks 255.00 Private lesson for non-credit (students/teacher agree on number of lessons). Fee based on instructors rate. The typical age of students is 17 and up with most students in the 17 to 25 year range. You must be 17 years old to stay in the dorm. Any age can attend but you do have to have a certain skill level in order to attend. If you are younger or need more remedial work there are a list of books that will help you prepare. These rooms will house 2 students per room. These rooms are available on a first come first serve basis. It is possible that NYU Housing will be able to find housing for more that 20 students but this is not guaranteed. We are limiting the first years enrollment into the NYU Sumer Guitar Program to 50 students. If you are enrolling for college credit the dorm room will be approximately 120.00 USD per week. If you are enrolling for non-credit it will be approximately 190.00 USD per week. We will have exact figures in a few weeks. Student must be 17 years of age to stay in the dorms. Students younger than 17 can stay in the dorms if special permission is granted by NYU and the students parents. This is a special case only and students would have to show remarkable dedication to learning and their audition materials would have to be of the same level as the older students. |
